Jake Grimes, the visionary force behind Jonathan David Building Company, is a seasoned builder with a rich tapestry of experience that spans over 30 years.

Fondly known as Jake, he cultivated his early love for construction working alongside his father and grandfather in their West Virginian woodshops. In 1996, Jake made the move to Michigan, marking the beginning of a remarkable career in the building industry.

With his Master Level Carpenter credentials, Jake’s projects have graced the pages of the Ann Arbor News, Our House Magazine, and even earned recognition in the Washington Post. Beyond his hands-on work, Jake has shared his wealth of knowledge through guest lectures on design and woodworking at local colleges in southeast Michigan.

Relocating to the Pacific Northwest with his wife and two Labs, Jake continued to expand his expertise by collaborating with Design/Build and Custom Home Builders. His dedication to enhancing build knowledge, creating efficient systems, and refining processes earned him the Remodelers Advantage MVP Award. At the Production Managers Roundtable event, Jake not only showcased his expertise but also participated in a panel Q&A forum at the Remodelers Summit National Production Conference.

Known for his professionalism, calm demeanor, and can-do attitude, Jake is a natural leader in the field. Beyond the construction site, you’ll find him in his woodshop crafting furniture, enjoying quality time with his wife, or playing fetch with his loyal lab companion, Tulip.
